Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of envdotweb. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.

1. The service

envdotweb provides encrypted storage, sharing and syncing of environment variables. Encryption and decryption happen on your devices; we store only ciphertext and the metadata needed to run the service.

2. Your account

• You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your passphrase and recovery code safe.
• Because we're zero-knowledge, we cannot recover your data if you lose your passphrase and recovery code. You accept this risk.
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the service to store or distribute unlawful content.
• Attempt to breach or probe the security of the service or other users' data.
• Abuse the free /share tool to send spam, malware, or phishing links.
• Resell or provide the service to third parties except as allowed by your plan's team features.

4. Plans, billing and seats

Paid plans are billed per active member ("seat") on a monthly or annual basis through Polar, our merchant of record. Adding or removing seats adjusts your charge, prorated. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. Plan limits — projects, members, environments and history — are described on the pricing page and enforced by the service.

5. Availability

We work to keep envdotweb available and reliable, but the service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We may change, suspend or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, envdotweb is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data resulting from a lost passphrase or recovery code. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months.

7. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. On termination, your ciphertext and metadata are deleted from our active systems.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the product evolves. We'll revise the date above and note material changes in the changelog. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
